We’re thrilled to be working with Reckon South to help cultivate this network and conversation in Alabama. Please sign up to participate or share.

Hosts and facilitators will be speaking in English, but if requested, we are able to offer Spanish interpretation to allow participants to speak in Spanish. ¡Regístrate aquí en español!

The nonprofit Essential Partners will design and facilitate the conversations. Our local partners will help with outreach and design of the conversations. Cortico will record the discussions and produce transcripts, which will be accessible to participants and our partners. The nonpartisan Bridge Alliance will provide access to resources and support. Journalists from Reckon will then be empowered to tell new stories that raise up the concerns and hopes of Alabamians under 40.

The end of the project will be marked by ongoing support and the publication of free guides to encourage healthier civic conversations in Alabama and to combat the divisiveness that has defined politics in recent years. We’ll reach out to participants with support for any next steps you’re interested in taking as well as opportunities to connect with community leaders, elected officials, and/or other folks working towards similar goals in your communities.

This project is generously funded by the Bridge Alliance and Reckon.
