Anne Markham Bailey is a poet & writer based in Birmingham, Alabama. A graduate of Barnard College (East Asian Literature) in NY, NY, she holds an MFA in Book Arts (Bookbinding) and an MA in English (Creative Writing).  She received the Ireland Prize at UAB to support the research and writing for her first book of poems, Stone Cold, White Lily, published in the UK in 2011. The chapbook Nancy Marguerite’s Chopin contains a single poem of the same name.  Bailey published her first children’s book, The Daring Egg under the imprint of the small press that she founded, Green Bucket Press.  As a serious student and teacher of meditation and somatic practice, Bailey created a small practice manual, The Practice of Being for her students, coming in Summer 2020.  Her podcast Present Tense is in its third season on Apple Podcast and Spotify.  She hosted and produced a 13-part series, The Fight For Alabama’s Last Wild Places in 2019.  www.annemarkhambailey.com
